Outta Hatha presents two Saturday evenings of mindful sunset yoga practice on 24th March and 31st March at Clifford Square (80 Collyer Quay) for iLight Marina Bay 2018. For this "Mindfulness Pop-Up Yoga" series, we will be donating 50% of proceeds from both sessions to Gyanada Foundation (in addition to 100% of any donated funds from participants on the day).
Gyanada is a non-profit organisation founded in 2013 They offer educational scholarships for hundreds of girls from disadvantaged backgrounds across India to attend low-cost private schools in their communities. They also run their own programmes to teach the girls English and computer skills. Gyanada Foundation is currently working on The Binary Story, the first long-term coding program for underprivileged girls in Mumbai. Join us for two lovely evenings by the bay, as we share our practice in support of a great cause!
Dynamic Power Flow with Aly - 24th March 6.30pm-8pm
Join Outta Hatha instructor Aly for a dynamic sequence combining strong flows with deep relaxing stretches! Expect to work hard on the mat moving through heart openers, detoxifying twists, firing up the core and exploring fun arm balances and inversions. The wave-like pacing will allow for resting periods of deep yin stretches weaved into the flow to reconnect back to the breath and intention. Let's look at how to conserve our energy from a strong class by retreating back to the power of the breath and creating that extra space in the mind! From this practice, we will hopefully be inspired to be more mindful of our habits and day to day actions off the mat. By consuming less, we are giving ourselves more!
Soulful Hatha Yoga with DJ (Diljyot) - 31st March 6.30pm-8pm
If asanas were flowers, what strings them together to make a beautiful garland is the breath/prana. Join Outta Hatha instructor DJ (Diljyot) to discover how to effectively use our prana, the vital force that sustains our body, to pace ourselves in our practice. The class would be a blend of movements intended to challenge you mentally and physically. Every posture designed to aid your healing, from the inside out. You would stretch, strengthen and tone, as well as rejuvenate the mind, body and breathe. You would get the time to move slowly and mindfully in your practice, heightening your awareness of every muscle, every move and every breath.
Price: Walk-in rate is $20 for each class. Please bring cash in exact change. You can also use the Outta Hatha class card. Participants can also purchase the Outta Hatha class card on the spot or via our website. Feel free to bring along any cash donation to Gyanada Foundation, on top of the class fees, to support their innovative educational initiatives for the girls in India.
Registration: No bookings required for the events, but do self-register at http://www.outtahatha.com/registration.html if it is your first time at an Outta Hatha class or event.
