Join Outta Hatha for a special weekend from 19-21 August 2016 as Mahayogi Gokul Jani Jaatinen @Gokulacandra returns to Singapore for a new series of workshops to guide you deeper into your practice. 

Friday 19 August 6.30pm-8.30pm
Forward Bend & Twist
Understanding the relationship between the abdominal muscles, pelvic floor and muscles of the inner thighs brings insight into the challenges of deep forward bends. Forward bending is a practice of introspection that requires a balance between strength and softness. This practice strengthens the core, releases the lower back and directs the breath into the deep recesses of our cells. In learning how to bend forward correctly, we are setting the foundation for building many other postures. The turning or twisting of the spine along with the abdomen in any asana is called Parivrtta Kriya. You will learn the necessary actions and arrows of movement to perform the Twists. You will also look at different bodies performing the same asana and visualize how, by applying the correct actions, you can bring the body in alignment physically and energetically.

Saturday 20 August 10am - 12pm
Signature Vinyasa
Jani’s signature high-vibrational power vinyasa class will leave you feeling strong and empowered in mind, body and spirit. You will build heat as you flow breath to movement. This class includes sun salutations, core strengthening, balancing, and inversion postures. Modifications and variations will be cued so students of all levels have the opportunity to explore their edge.

Saturday 20 August 2.30pm - 4.30pm
Philosophy & Meditation
Both meditation and yoga philosophy offer us an opportunity to take our yoga practice beyond our yoga mat, and for us to uncover and experience the inner workings of yoga. We will discuss the yogic view of meditation, including a basic framework of classical yogic philosophy. This is the perfect workshop for Yogis longing to delve deeper, beyond the bounds of just the physical poses/asanas – and anyone interested in cultivating a daily meditation practice or re-awakening your established sadhana practice.

Sunday 21 August 10am - 12pm
Transitions
In this workshop, Jani will guide you through practical transitions and offer informative instruction to explore coming in and out of poses, learn to establish techniques and methods necessary to eventually master these floating transitions. We will review and practice how to approach jumping forward from down dog and jumping back from standing, jumping through to seated and back from seated, and much more! You will come away from this workshop with the tools necessary to continue to build strength and lightness in your transitions, and in your entire practice!
