Program description:

Yoga Nidra (a healing "yogic sleep") is a yogic relaxation therapy that is effectively used in the management of many health disorders including cancer, asthma and high blood pressure.  It is also a powerful tool to help people cope with psychological issues including anxiety and depression. The practice of yoga nidra is deeply healing for the body and mind.

Do you want to deepen your understanding of this traditional practice and how you can apply it? This one-day training is designed to provide you with all the basics to confidently guide a powerful and effective yoga nidra practice.

The first part of the training will cover the history, concepts and facts behind it. Learn the essential steps in yoga nidra, and understand the benefits of the practice.

The second part of the training will focus on creating the full Yoga Nidra experience.  The practice will start with guidelines on the setting and how to make the practitioners feel comfortable and calm. Teresa will also share some practical tips to conduct sessions safely. The full guided practice by Teresa will then allow the participants to integrate the lecture notions in a holistic way.

This short training will provide you with enough information to start leading Yoga Nidra sessions. Thereafter, keeping up your own practice and teaching will be key to developing your personal ways.

About Teresa Richard (Kshama Yoga)
A certified teacher in Hatha and Yin, Ashtanga practitioner and curious by nature, Teresa travels the world bringing ancient tra
ditions off the mat and making them accessible to all.

Orginally from Spain, Teresa leads a nomadic lifestyle between Asia and Europe --  living and teaching "wherever she lays her mat" (when she has one).    From teaching advanced asanas in a Teacher Training programme in Kerala, to guiding people into awareness and meditation in a Silent Retreat in Bali, Teresa is passionate about sharing yoga and meditation techniques to help us restore the lost connection between our exhausted bodies, minds and hearts.

Teresa found in Yoga Nidra a powerful healing tool for her recovery from breast cancer surgery alongside with Yin, Pranayama and Gentle Hatha. She breaks down these techniques with grace and a down-to-earth sense of humour making them accessible and useful, allowing the practitioner to enjoy and understand the practices  She hopes to empower other teachers to be comfortable facilitating these practices and widen their reach.

*Note: This weekend workshop series will be held at Yoga In Sync (near Outram Park MRT). Mats are available, but you are encouraged to bring your own mat/towel for better hygiene.
